AdvanCell Recognised in Australia’s International Good Design Awards for Excellence in Design and Innovation
September 20, 2024, SYDNEY AUSTRALIA – AdvanCell is proud to announce that its Lead- 212 Isotope Generator has received the prestigious Good Design Australia Gold Award in the Product Design category and was also recognised with an award in the Engineering Design category for its exceptional innovation. These accolades follow earlier recognition, when AdvanCell won the Australian Good Design Award of the Year in 2022. Innovation underlying this proprietary generator design was supported by a CRC-P grant from the Department of Industry, Science and Resources and is a collaboration with Design + Industry (D+I Part of Capgemini).
The generator’s design is integral to how novel Targeted Alpha Therapies can scale to improve the lives of patients with advanced-stage cancer globally. The manufacturing processes that the generator supports fit seamlessly into existing facilities, workflows and distribution networks for the nuclear medicine industry. Scaled manufacture is commencing in Australia, to support the expansion of current clinical trials to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of these treatments.
AdvanCell has begun to establish the manufacture of Lead-212 and its compounds in the USA in collaboration with academic and commercial partners.
Generators are designed and assembled at AdvanCell’s 40,000-square-foot facility in Brisbane, Australia, which is also the manufacturing hub for AdvanCell’s innovative Targeted Alpha Therapy portfolio. Industry-leading R&D, Engineering, and GMP Manufacturing suites are dedicated to the development and production of Targeted Alpha Therapies. With AdvanCell’s world-class Translational Biology team and the facilities at the Translational Research Institute Australia, AdvanCell is positioned to rapidly and effectively revolutionise Targeted Alpha Therapy and change the course of cancer treatment.
AdvanCell is using its Award-Winning Isotope Generator to manufacture clinical trial doses of ADVC001, its highly promising therapy for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. This therapy is in a world-first Phase I/II study at Metro South Health’s Princess Alexandra Hospital and Metro North Health‘s Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital.
